This session is hilarious and extremely engaging – with the added bonus that it is also educational. Maggie provides a “how to” on tracing family history and information on some of the resources that are helpful. Maggie’s story telling makes some of the historical characters come alive, and will make everyone want to research their own family history.
Maggie’s talk is a light-hearted look at a dull subject – boredom. Bored with school, Maggie left before she was fifteen, but in this speech she reveals how, despite a lack of formal education, she embraced variety, creativity and stimulation in her life. She is still seeking new experiences at age 70. This talk is aimed at motivating retired people to seek new and ever more difficult experiences in later life.
